WHO:

The Chesapeake Chamber Music Competition announces its 2010 International Competition for instrumental ensembles of 3 to 5 members. The average of the ages of ensemble members must be less than 31. The Competition, sponsored by Chesapeake Chamber Music, Inc., is advised by a panel of outstanding chamber musicians and academicians.

WHAT:

The Competition offers emerging musicians new performance opportunities, financial rewards, and recognized musical credentials. Prizes are: Gold Medal $10,000 and performance at the 25th Chesapeake Chamber Music Festival in June 2010 and Silver Medal $5,000. Additional prizes and awards will also be given. Presenting organizations will attend to audition finalists for other performances. The Competition is a biennial event funded through private contributions and grants. The Competition offices are located in Easton, Maryland, on the Eastern shore of the Chesapeake Bay. The 2008 Competition drew 56 entries from the United States, Canada, Russia, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom.

WHEN:

Applications with audition CD must be submitted by November 30, 2009. Finalists will be invited to perform before an audience at the Avalon Theatre in Easton, MD on Saturday, March 27, 2010 and in other concerts in the area on March 28, 2010.
